A mother of six and grandmother to three, she enjoys spending her spare time with her family, friends and animals including, horse Seattle, cat Stella, dogs Mara and Dino Martini, all courtesy of the local animal shelter, and the “mischievous” Coco-Loki, a gift from one of our staff, who often visits the firm and can be found playing with Peaches Ellis, attorney Adam Ellis’ dog. She also has a chinchilla, Oscar, and 7 “urban” chickens. A native of Tallahassee, her southern and Italian heritage lends itself to her love of cooking copious amounts of lasagna, vegetables from her home garden, homemade pies from local orchards and quiche- with the help of her chickens. Whenever possible she hits the road with her musician friends having a special preference for the musical styling of great George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic, according to Katherine, “if funk music doesn’t make you move – you’re dead”. Marie refers to Katherine as our “resident comedienne”, and while she is serious and passionate about her work, she always enjoys a good laugh.
